Graveyard Keeper alchemy ingredients and Scientist yields

Open the alchemy workbench when the question is which station, which ingredient, and how the Scientist perk unlocked by Master of Alchemy changes your material requirements. Powders, solutions, extracts, and mixed products do not share one recipe list. A mix on Alchemy workbench II will not appear on the mill.

Which station makes this?

Alchemy mill grinds a source into a powder. 1 Cabbage becomes 2 Health powder at the mill, or 3 with Scientist. 1 Butterfly at the same mill becomes 2 Chaos powder, or 3 with Scientist.

Hand mixer stirs solutions. The Glue chain below uses 1 Yellow flower for 1 Life solution, or 2 with Scientist.

Extracts come from a still. Distillation cube turns 1 Butterfly into 1 Chaos extract, or 2 with Scientist. Distillation cube II turns 1 Butterfly into 2 Chaos extract, or 3 with Scientist. Use the cube you have; the missing Butterfly count follows that cube's yield.

Alchemy workbench mixes two-ingredient products such as Heal potion from Health powder and Chaos solution. Alchemy workbench II is the player bench for three-ingredient Glue.

Zombie alchemy decomposer is a zombie decomposer with its own recipe set, including quality choices the player mill may not list. Switch stations in the workbench instead of assuming every alchemy building shares recipes.

When is a different ingredient worth it?

Some recipes accept more than one quality of the same crop. On the zombie decomposer, Hops, Hops, and Hops all produce Slowing powder. Pick the quality in your inventory. The workbench will not finish a total while that choice is empty.

Health powder also has other mill sources, including Crop waste. Crop waste yields 1 powder, or 2 with Scientist, so it is the right pick when you have waste and no cabbage. Chaos extract can start from Moth instead of Butterfly. Choose the source you actually hold; the default chain is only a starting suggestion.

Ash appears in some workbench mixes. If a later mix spends ash, guaranteed ash from an earlier batch is reused before the plan asks for more.

What does Scientist change?

Scientist is the perk from Master of Alchemy, which itself sits behind Distillate. It changes mill, mixer, and still output where the recipe has a Scientist yield. It does not change the Glue mix itself: that mix still spends 1 Health powder, 1 Life solution, and 1 Chaos extract per Glue.

Turn the perk on in the workbench when you own it and you are expanding powders, solutions, or extracts. A recipe without a Scientist bonus keeps the same output with the perk enabled.

How should I make Glue?

For 4 Glue on Alchemy workbench II, the mix runs 4 times. With empty stock and the default sources that is:

ProductDefault sourceWithout ScientistWith Scientist
Health powderCabbage at Alchemy mill2 Cabbage (4 powder)2 Cabbage (6 powder, 2 spare)
Life solutionYellow flower at the mixer4 Yellow flower2 Yellow flower
Chaos extractButterfly at Distillation cube4 Butterfly2 Butterfly

Cabbage does not drop from 2 to 1 because 1 Cabbage still makes only 3 powder with Scientist, which is short of 4. The spare 2 powder stay in the plan. Butterfly and Yellow flower do drop by half because those recipes double.

If you already have 1 Glue, the mix runs 3 times. If you switch Chaos extract to the copper cube, recount Butterfly from that cube's 2-or-3 yield instead of the clay 1-or-2 yield.

Why does the planner ask me to choose a quality or source?

A chance-based output cannot promise a fixed number of ingredients. Choose another recipe or supply that ingredient directly when you need a firm total. For recipes accepting crop qualities, select the quality you hold before relying on the result. Share the finished preparation with its current sources and stock; the recipient saves it only after choosing Add to preparation.
