Graveyard Keeper embalming order and white skulls
Use the corpse preparation tool when the decision is injection order, which organ to pull, and whether the result is for burial or for a zombie. The worked Body example below starts at 1 red skull and 2 white skulls. Enter the organs and existing injections on your own corpse before following an order; delivered bodies can have different organs. Signed negatives are kept until the final totals, then each color is clamped at zero.
Which skulls am I counting?
The body itself contributes 0 red and 0 white. The example’s parts are Skull (−1 red), Bone (0), Flesh (+1 white), Fat (−1 white, +1 red), Blood (−1 white, +1 red), Skin (+1 white, −1 red), Brain (+1 white, +1 red), Heart (0), and Intestines (+1 white). Together that is 1 red and 2 white after the zero clamp.
Surgeon's mistake is a starting condition (+1 red, −1 white). It has no autopsy extract. Do not try to pull it like an organ.
Displayed red and white can sit at 0 while the signed sum is still negative. Glue injection on a body that only has Blood and Fat leaves signed white at −1 and displayed white at 0.
When can I inject, and in what order?
Embalming Table will refuse a liquid you already applied. It also refuses a negative effect that is larger than the current displayed skulls of that color. Freshness is not part of that check. A body at 10% can still take an injection if the skulls allow it.
Gold injection removes 2 red and adds 2 white. On the example’s 1-red body that injection is illegal first. Apply Lye injection first (to 2 red, 3 white), then Gold injection (to 0 red, 5 white), then extract Fat at Preparation place. Removing Fat takes away its +1 red and −1 white, which lands at 0 red and 6 white.
This outcome assumes a successful extraction without a new surgical mistake. Putting Gold injection first in the same sequence fails because the body has too few red skulls. A second Gold injection is a duplicate and is refused. Silver injection needs at least 1 red because it removes 1 red.
Open Prepare materials beside a required injection to carry its quantity into the alchemy workbench. Your corpse sequence remains available when you return.
What does freshness change?
Usable white skulls for burial use ceil(freshness%). If that value is greater than 90, the body is treated as 100% fresh. Otherwise usable white is floor(white × that percent / 100). At 90% on a 2-white body you have 1 usable white skull. At just over 90% you have 2. The missing white is decay for burial, not a ban on embalming.
Restore injection adds 50 freshness points, then freshness is clamped at 100. From 70% that settles at 100%. Restore also halves the remaining decay rate. Preservative injection sets the decay multiplier to 0, which stops further decay. The tool does not predict how many days a body lasts, because location and workstation modifiers also change decay.
How do I improve an organ?
Extract the organ onto the preparation tray, enable Better Save Soul, improve it, then insert it again. You cannot park two parts from the same organ family in the body. Inserting Heart fails while a heart is already present.
Enhancement cost follows the current skull count of the color you are raising, and that count is treated as 0 when it is negative. Taking Blood from −1 white to 3 white is four steps: 2, 2, 3, then 4 Sin Shard, 11 shards in total. The cap is 3. Skull, bone, surgical mistakes and dark organs cannot be improved. An eligible enhanced organ can be improved again until the selected color reaches 3.
A removed organ can be inserted again without spending a second copy. If the organ is not on the tray, the material list requires a separate copy from your inventory.
How do workers and graves use these numbers?
Zombie efficiency uses max(1, white) / 40 from the organs and injections, not from the empty body. Red skulls do not shrink that coefficient. Burial decay does not shrink it either. The 2-white example gives a 5% work coefficient regardless of burial freshness.
Grave score uses usable white skulls and separately uses floor(decoration) minus red skulls. With 1 usable white, 1 red, and 20 decoration the burial result is 1. With 0 decoration it is −1.
